Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a therapeutic treatment created by
Marsha Linehan, PhD, ABPP. It focuses on helping clients learn and use new skills and techniques to develop a life worth living. DBT includes skills for mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) emphasizes the connection between thoughts, behavior, and emotions that are correlated with dissatisfaction in life. In CBT, clients learn strategies to recognize and change these patterns. CBT is an evidence-based treatment for a wide variety of problems including anxiety, depression, addictions and compulsive behaviors.
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy
In Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Clients learn to practice mindfulness to help them escape from a cycle of emotional reactivity to thoughts and bodily sensations to avoid intensification of depression, anxiety or fear.
